D. Mitchell President / Chief Executive Officer
D. McGinnis Mitchell is the Founder, President and CEO of NDS Construction, LLC and National Diversity Solutions, LLC. He has also served a vital role in establishing such organizations as Premier Mortgage Group (at one time Kentucky’s oldest and largest minority-owned mortgage company) and The Road to Homeownership, a unique non-profit program designed specifically to provide families with the tools and knowledge they need to realize their dream of homeownership through financial literacy. As a Lexington Young Professional Association “20 Under 40″ Rising Star winner, Republic Bank We CARE Award nominee, Kentuckiana Minority Business Council Ferda C. Porter Award nominee and 2007 Commerce Lexington Minority Business of the Year award winner, his commitment to economic inclusion is well recognized. Mitchell was honored to be a speaker at the United Nations’ 2008 World Diversity Leadership Summit, a significant gathering of senior corporate, government and non-governmental organization officials, focused on the complex challenges and opportunities related to cutting-edge global diversity management. He was appointed by Governor Ernie Fletcher to serve on the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service as well as the Kentucky Board of Housing, Buildings and Construction. Mitchell has also served on the board of directors of the United Way.
Ronda Dennison Chief Financial Officer
Dennison obtained her Masters in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and has been licensed to practice as a Certified Public Accountant since 1991. She began her career as an auditor for an international accounting firm, Coopers & Lybrand. In late 1995, Dennison obtained employment at a local CPA firm in Lexington, Kentucky. As a result of her leadership skills and commitment to quality, she rapidly advanced through the firm and in 2000 became a shareholder. Her clients primarily consisted of local businesses in the manufacturing, service and construction industries and their owners. She sold her business in 2007 to join National Diversity Solutions.
Harmony Marshall Director of Supplier Collaboration
Marshall's background encompasses more than 12 years in sales and business management. In 2004, Marshall became president of a boutique consulting practice that helped large businesses, governments and school districts implement strategic sourcing and supplier diversity. During this time Marshall pioneered development of a unique web-based software application that increased opportunities by improving collaboration between buyers and suppliers. Marshall volunteers in her community as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Hamilton County foster children, a reading tutor in the Cincinnati Public School District, and an applicant evaluator for the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Small Business Excellence Awards.
Gene Travers Director of Marketing
A graduate of Western Kentucky University with BA's in Advertising and Marketing, Travers brings to NDS Construction over 14 years’ marketing agency experience. With an extensive background in creative, design, direct response advertising, product/literature fulfillment, technology and logistics, he has been responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans for such Fortune 500 accounts as Procter & Gamble, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Kraft Foods and others. A Commerce-Lexington Ambassador, he has also been involved with the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, Makenna Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America.
Reginald D. Smith Senior Project Executive
A University of Kentucky academic ALL-SEC student athlete with a BS in Civil Engineering, Reginald D. Smith, PE, brings over 15 years of engineering experience to NDS Construction. Formerly with Messer Construction Company, Smith served as Project Manager – with an emphasis on structural steel configuration – overseeing projects including Georgetown Cinemas, Dillard’s Department Stores, Toyota, Berea College and the University of Kentucky. He also served with Cooper Steel Fabricators, working on such key accounts as Pepsi Bottling Group, Main & Rose and Mercy Clermont County Hospital.
Gabe Dadi Project Engineer
A University of Kentucky graduate and Beard Scholarship, Commonwealth, William C. Parker, Lute and KEES scholarship recipient, Dadi comes to NDS Construction with a BS in Civil Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration. Well-rounded in international business, his MBA studies included travel to such countries as Denmark, England, Belgium and Austria. Dadi brings his Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing training, as well as hospitality industry expertise, to the company in the overall capacity of Project Engineer.
Joyce Walker Executive Assistant
Bringing over 20 years of senior administrative and customer service experience to NDS, Walker has worked with such notable organizations as Lexmark, Wells Fargo, American Express Cable Services Group and the Cincinnati/Hamilton County Community Action Agency.
